Our client is seeking a Legal Advisor to join their team in Jersey. This is a full-time role offering an opportunity to provide legal support across moderately complex matters within a dynamic and regulated financial services environment. The role will involve delivering sound legal advice, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the business in legal risk identification and mitigation. The successful candidate will have a legal background with proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documentation, particularly within financial services. Job Duties:
Provide legal advice on moderately complex matters using established tools and methodologiesDraft, vet, review, disseminate, and negotiate legal documents in line with internal policiesSupport business stakeholders by offering clear, commercially aware legal opinionsEnsure adherence to data privacy and regulatory standards in all legal workMaintain accurate legal case records and documentationParticipate in vendor selection where legal expertise is required to ensure high-quality outcomesFoster collaborative relationships with internal legal teams and stakeholders to remain aligned on business developmentsAssist in legal risk mitigation and offer strategic legal input to support business planningContribute to legal aspects of contract management, ensuring compliance with internal standards and frameworksSupport the wider legal function in ensuring business activities align with local and international legal requirements.
Job Requirements: Degree in LawMinimum of seven years’ experience providing legal advice, including five years within the legal and/or financial services sectorAt least three years’ experience in people management or team leadership (formal or informal)Strong understanding of legal risk identification and mitigationProficiency in contract management and legal draftingKnowledge of financial industry regulatory frameworksAbility to conduct legal research and provide clear, commercially relevant adviceExcellent communication skills and sound judgement.
