About The JobThe Import Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating all import activities to ensure timely and cost-effective clearance and delivery of goods. This role involves compliance with customs regulations, liaising with clearing agents, freight forwarders, and government authorities, and ensuring smooth flow of imported raw materials, equipment, and finished products to support company operations. ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and monitor all import activities from origin to delivery. Monitoring shipments and obtaining clearance from customs and other agencies Liaise with suppliers, shipping lines, clearing & forwarding agents, and regulatory bodies to facilitate efficient cargo clearance.
Review and verify import documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and permits. Track shipments and provide regular updates to management on import status and delivery timelines. Negotiate with clearing agents, freight forwarders, and transporters to achieve cost efficiency. Prepare and maintain import-related records, reports, and performance metrics. Handle duty, VAT, port charges, and other applicable import-related payments. Resolve any issues related to delays, demurrage, or compliance with authorities. Ensuring document accuracyRequirements Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in import/logistics operations, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG industry. Strong knowledge of customs systems (TANCIS), and port operations. Proficiency in MS OfficeApply now
