IVANHOE MINES is looking for a Chief Accountant, Kazakhstan. Exploration is in Ivanhoe’s DNA, with active projects in 5 jurisdictions; The newest expansion is into the Chu Sarysu basin of Kazakhstan, which is where this job will be focused.

Copper exploration is also focused on the Democratic Republic of Congo and exploration on the Western Foreland; in Angola and Zambia searching for the western extension of the Copperbelt; and additionally in South Africa we are exploring for mineralisation associated with the Northern Limb of the Bushveld Complex and it’s potential feeder at Mokopane. RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Qualified Accountant with a minimum 8 years’ post-qualifying experience in financial management, ideally within a mining, energy, or similar industryIFRS accounting and reporting, Project Cost control, Budgeting, Forecasting and Financial Analysis experienceExcellent communication skills in English and Russian(written and spoken preferred) Minimum Advanced Skills And Knowledge InComputer literacy ExcelFluent in English (Russian preferable) Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:

Statutory Accounting & Tax ComplianceMaintain full statutory accounting records in compliance with Kazakh legislation (1C or other approved system)Prepare and submit all statutory tax filings (VAT, CIT, payroll, social contributions, etc. )Ensure timely and accurate financial statement submissionsLiaise with local tax authorities and respond to queries or inspectionsSubsoil Use Compliance & ReportingPrepare and submit subsoil use reports (financial and operational) per the Subsoil Use CodeMaintain clear accounting of reimbursable vs. non-reimbursable exploration expendituresEnsure correct treatment of charter capital injections and work program spendingBudgeting & ForecastingLead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling across UK and KZ JV entitiesTrack and report actuals vs.

budget across all Kazakh LLPsFinancial ReportingEnsure timely and accurate submission of trial balance, general ledger and supporting schedules to Ivanhoe’s and Pallas’s finance teams on a monthly basis.

Cash & Banking OversightOversee the flow of funds between entities, including registration, currency management, and charter capital registrationContractor & Consultant ManagementMaintain records of contractor and consultant agreements, payments, and outstanding obligations to minimize WHT on KZ paymentsHR & Payroll AccountingOversee HR processes and maintain payroll records for all LLP employeesEnsure timely salary payments, tax, and social contributions Audit Support & Internal ControlsOversee all audit processes, including UK financial audits, Kazakhstan subsoil audits, and regional tax audits.
