Java Software Engineer (12-month contract)

Known for its strong culture of excellence, innovation, and client service, the company operates in all major financial centers.Their FICC Front Office Engineering team is looking for a Java Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance trade booking and control systems used across global markets.What you will doDesign, develop, and maintain scalable solutions for mission-critical trade booking and control systems in the FICC front office.Collaborate with traders, strats, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software.Participate in the full software lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.Ensure system accuracy, performance, and compliance, while maintaining clear documentation.Contribute to long-term architectural work on microservices, data pipelines, and platform evolution.Take full ownership of your code, including testing and quality assurance.Work on strategic projects related to trade operations and operational risk.What you will need:3–5+ years of hands-on experience in Java.Experience with Spring or similar frameworks (e.g., Vert.x).Exposure to distributed systems, data structures, and concurrency.Experience using Git (GitLab preferred) and CI/CD tools.Knowledge of or willingness to work with proprietary in-house tools and frameworks.Strong verbal and written communication skills (essential for daily interaction with traders and global teams).Proactive mindset, ownership, and ability to work both independently and in a team.Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, including proprietary systems.Nice to have:Familiarity with C++ or Python.Familiarity with Kafka and microservices architecture.Experience with MongoDB, Hazelcast, or other NoSQL/Cache technologies.Exposure to monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus) and understanding of SRE principles.What you will get:12-month contract with a B2B or FTE employment option (depending on your preference), with potential for extension.Salary range: 150-180 PLN/hour (B2B contract), 19.200 - 22,200 PLN gross/month (FTE contract)Hybrid work mode (3 days in the Warsaw offices)The opportunity to shape architectural decisions on platform scalability and microservicesDirect collaboration with front-office teams on high-impact, business-critical systems
