Job DescriptionPosition Overview: We are seeking a talented Investment Banking Associate to join our team in Tokyo, focusing on executing transactions in Japan. The successful candidate will play a critical role in executing M&A deals, capital raising activities, and providing strategic advice to clients across various industries. Key Responsibilities: Support senior bankers in originating, structuring, and executing M&A transactions, equity and debt offerings, and other financial advisory services in Japan. Conduct industry research, financial analysis, and valuation assessments to assist in client pitches and transaction processes.
Prepare detailed financial models, pitch books, and presentation materials for client meetings and transactions. Coordinate due diligence processes, manage data rooms, and liaise with legal, compliance, and other internal teams to ensure deal execution is seamless. Build and maintain relationships with clients, investors, and industry contacts to identify new business opportunities and expand the firm's presence in the region. Assist in mentoring and training junior team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, with exposure to M&A, capital markets, or corporate finance transactions. Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
