The Junior Account manager supports the administration, analysis, and delivery of employee group benefits programs. This role assists in maintaining plan accuracy, preparing reports, conducting data audits, coordinating with vendors, and responding to employee or client inquiries. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and interest in health, dental, disability, and wellness benefit programs within the Canadian regulatory landscape.Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits Administration & SupportAssist in the day-to-day administration of group benefits plans (health, dental, life, disability, wellness programs).Process enrolments, terminations, and changes in benefits systems with accuracy.Support annual benefits renewals, open enrolments, and plan changes.Maintain employee benefits records and ensure data integrity across internal and insurer systems.Analysis & ReportingPrepare and update regular benefits reports, dashboards, and utilization summaries.Assist in analyzing claims experience, plan costs, and renewal projections.Conduct audits to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with plan rules.Support benchmarking exercises and market research for plan competitiveness.Vendor & Stakeholder CoordinationLiaise with insurers, brokers, and third-party administrators to resolve issues.Support internal HR and payroll teams regarding benefits deductions and eligibility.Respond to employee or client benefits questions with clear and professional communication.Compliance & DocumentationAssist in ensuring plans comply with federal and provincial regulations (e.g., Ontario ESA, CRA, privacy legislation, disability legislation).Maintain process documentation, benefits guides, and training materials.Help manage invoices, premium reconciliations, and reporting deadlines.QualificationsEducationDiploma or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.Experience0–2 years of experience in group benefits, HR, insurance, or financial analysis (co-op or internship experience is an asset).Experience with group benefits providers (e.g., Sun Life, Canada Life, Manulife) is an advantage.Skills & CompetenciesStrong Excel and data analysis skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.Customer service–oriented and comfortable explaining benefit concepts.Familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems is an asset.
