THE OPPORTUNITYOur client is a leading insurance group with over 110 years of experience managing workers’ insurance and compensation claims. They partner with employers, medical providers, and industry stakeholders to deliver market-leading return-to-work outcomes and safe work initiatives.As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an Junior Accountant to join their Manila-based team on a hybrid work setup. As a Junior Accountant, you will support the company’s sustainability and growth by ensuring accurate financial data and analysis across various reporting entities. You will be responsible for managing the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial reports while collaborating with the finance team, auditors, and key stakeholders. The position also focuses on improving reporting efficiency, identifying process enhancements, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.The position follows a hybrid schedule, with two days onsite and three days working from home. The role is based in BGC, Taguig, with work hours from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM PHT. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESHandles month-end closing activities for simple to moderately complex entities.Ensures accuracy of financial data through detailed reconciliation of balance sheets, bank accounts, and intercompany transactions.Prepares tax calculations, BAS, bank reconciliation, and cash flow reports.Supports audit requirements and ensures the timely submission of audited financial statements.Collaborates with finance teams, auditors, and stakeholders to resolve reporting issues promptly.Maintains data integrity, updates process documentation, and identifies improvement opportunities.Participates in finance projects and initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency.SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.1–3 years of experience in General Ledger Accounting or Financial Reporting, ideally within the insurance industry or a BPO/Shared Services environment.Experience in preparing annual financial statements and coordinating with external auditors.Proficiency with ERP systems; experience with Workday is an advantage.Advanced MS Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, etc.).Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality control.Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple information sources, maintain proper documentation, and ensure version control.ASW OFFERS A Great Place to Work certified company environment.A diverse, inclusive, and supportive company culture.Competitive remuneration.Opportunity to collaborate and work with global clients and stakeholders.Medical benefits.Great Paid Leave entitlements.Team outings, travel opportunities, company parties/events, and other exciting activities.Exposure to an international environment, working with people across Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand and Australia.Industry and role-related training.Ongoing career opportunities.
