We innovate and seek sustainable ways to deliver energy responsibly through our diverse team of over 5000 employees, as well as our global network of customers and partners.PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONWe are looking for a Junior Back Office Analyst to join our Risk, Middle Office & Back Office Team (RMO). This is a permanent position based in Geneva and reports to the Head of Risk & Middle Office.In this role, you will work within a Crude & Products Trading environment. Core duties will be to reconcile all Physical and Paper Trading activities across the business. In parallel to these duties you will be tasked to identify and improve current processes across the RMO function. With a focus on increased accuracy of data through automation, developing and building of analytical tools.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESDaily reconciliation of paper derivatives with Brokers, Clearers, OTC Counterparts and Financing Banks.Daily reconciliation of contracts for physical oil & refined products transactions between external counterpart and internal trading system. Processing and reconciliation of invoices to the Trading SystemManagement of derivatives positions internally across various Financing Banks Management of various Static Data related to traded contracts, such as Holiday Calendars, Price Data, Exchange Mapping amongst others. Onboarding of new products, instruments, and business lines. Timely and effective communication with various external and internal stakeholders. Contribute to team and individual projects as required the Head of Risk, Middle & Back Office. Develop tools to manage Initial and Variation Margin with Exchanges, working closely with Treasury and Finance. Develop, analyse, and report KPI’s around contract capture and draw concise conclusions for management review. Proactively engage with various business units and stakeholders to improve existing reporting, controls, and processes.Automation across the RMO function and specifically apply automated IT tools to reduce the level of manual processes, to reduce time spent on manual processes and increase data accuracy by reducing manual errors. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & FUNCTIONAL SKILLSBachelor's Degree in Finance or Economics from an accredited college or universityThis is an entry level role. Experience of an office environment is desirable, but not exclusionaryExperience in a Back Office function with exposure to Refined Products & Crude is a plusFluent in both written and spoken EnglishCompetent user of MS Excel and other MS ApplicationsAbility to interpret large datasets and draw logical conclusions Experience using VBA/SQL and/or Python is preferredExperience on MS Power BI is preferredUnderstanding of derivative and physical trading across the barrel is an advantageREQUIRED COMPETENCIESPersonal Effectiveness & Stress ResilienceTeamwork & CollaborationConflict ResolutionPlanning & Organizing SkillsAnalytical ThinkingWe are not using recruitment partners for this vacancy.
