The company operates in a fully remote, international environment and maintains a strong culture of collaboration, inclusion, and professional growth.This is an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney looking to deepen their experience in commercial transactions and technology law within a fast-paced, global business setting.About the RoleThe Junior Legal Counsel – Commercial will support the company’s legal function across the Americas, working closely with business, sales, and product teams to facilitate commercial growth while mitigating legal risk. Reporting to the Divisional General Counsel, this role involves hands-on work with technology contracts, licensing issues, and open-source matters.Key Responsibilities:Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial and technology agreements.Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks, obligations, and best practices in connection with commercial operations.Support sales and procurement teams in structuring deals and resolving contract-related matters.Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance to drive strategic initiatives.Assist with open-source software issues, including license compliance and compatibility.Contribute to the continuous improvement of contract templates, playbooks, and legal processes.Collaborate cross-functionally with product, finance, engineering, and compliance teams.Help manage disputes or pre-litigation matters that arise from commercial relationships.Stay informed about regulatory and legal developments relevant to technology and software businesses.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.Active bar membership in a U.S. state (preference for candidates based in Eastern or Central time zones).2–5 years of post-bar experience, ideally in commercial transactions, technology law, or corporate contracts.Familiarity with intellectual property, data protection, and cybersecurity issues as they relate to technology transactions.Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.Basic understanding of open-source licensing principles or a willingness to develop this expertise.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Strong business acumen and the ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.Self-starter who thrives in a remote, fast-moving, and collaborative environment.Why This RoleFully remote position within the U.S.Exposure to global technology and software operations.Small, supportive legal team with opportunities for mentorship and growth.Meaningful work at the intersection of law, business, and innovation.Inclusive, mission-driven culture with a strong commitment to professional development.
