Joining us means working hands-on in the early phases of product development — building prototypes, solving complex problems, and seeing your ideas come to life.You’ll collaborate daily with electronics, software, and clinical engineers in a creative, high-energy environment where innovation is part of everyday work.The RoleReporting directly to the R&D Director, the Junior Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in designing, prototyping, and assembling robotic subsystems for the REN platform. The ideal candidate is a practical and creative problem-solver with a passion for developing precision mechanical systems, mechanisms, and assemblies that integrate electronics and software into a unified robotic product.What You’ll DoDesign mechanical and mechatronic assemblies using CAD (SolidWorks or similar).Build and test prototypes using 3D printing and rapid prototyping.Assemble full robotic systems, integrating mechanical and electronic subsystemsMaintain design documentation and traceability.Run bench tests to validate performance and reliability.Collaborate closely with electronics and software teams to refine integrated designs.Manage the mechanical workshop and support sourcing of prototype parts.Contribute to documentation and design reviews under our ISO 13485-compliant QMS.What We’re Looking ForRight to work in the UK (please note we’re unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time).Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or similar.Hands-on CAD experience.Familiarity with rapid prototyping (FDM/SLA 3D printing) and mechanical assembly.Understanding of materials, tolerancing, and design for manufacturability.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.A proactive, collaborative mindset suited to a fast-moving startup.Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience with actuation systems, robotics, or precision mechanisms.Familiarity with FEA/simulation tools.Basic understanding of sensors or embedded systems integration.Knowledge of ISO 13485, IEC 60601, ISO 14971, or risk management (DFMEA/PFMEA).Experience with Jira, Git, or other engineering management tools.Why Join Atlas Endoscopy?Work on technology that can transform patient care.See your designs evolve from concept to functional robotics.Collaborate with experts across electronics, mechanics, and software.Modern lab and office space at Nexus, University of Leeds.Inclusive, diverse, and growth-oriented team culture.Atlas Endoscopy is an equal opportunity employer.
