Reporting to the Assistant Secretary Treasurer with functional direction from the Project Manager, the Junior Project Manager collaborates with various senior-level internal and external partners to support valuable district-wide functions and services.The Junior Project Manager plays a key role in facilitating communication between individuals and teams, ensuring alignment and timely problem-solving to support overall project success. This position works in close collaboration with the Test Lead to ensure successful achievement of testing milestones, the Change Management Lead to support successful implementation of the organization’s change strategy, and the Business Unit Leads to accomplish various implementation and change activities. The Junior Project Manager provides direct supervision to the Systems Trainer to ensure successful tactical training plan delivery .Responsibilities Co-creates and maintains the integrated project plan and develops detailed schedules and work plan structures with support from the Project Manager.Collaborates with district department leaders and implementation partners to align priorities, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, allocate tasks, and hold development teams accountable to deadlines and targets.Creates and manages the project monitoring tool in collaboration with the external system integrator.Ensures functional requirements are tracked, achievable, and met as agreed with functional leads in HR and Finance.Supports the monitoring, tracking, reporting, and escalating of risks and issues to support sound mitigation and management decisions.Develops and maintains project documentation and project artifacts, manages workflows, and organizes meetings with internal and external teams.Collaborates with the Change Management Lead to monitor progress regarding the adoption, training and support services for the new system and its associated processes.Supervises the Systems Trainer to successfully achieve system training objectives.Acts as Scrum Master if required, leading Scrum activities such as Sprint Planning Session, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective.Manages release and test cycles in collaboration with the Test Lead and external system integrator.Collaborates with external system integrator to design, develop and monitor a tracking system for IT support of the new ERP system.Supports external relationships management, including external system integrator and third-party system vendors.Manages any sub-streams of the project as delegated by the project manager.Qualifications Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems or a related field.3+ years related experience managing IT projects, people and budgets in a complex information systems environment.3+ years of project management experience and Scrum methodologies.Strong knowledge of project management principles, processes and methodologies, and specifically the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or working towards designation an asset.Experience with large scale ERP implementation process an asset.SAFE Scrum certification an asset.Competencies Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in simple business terms. Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to establish rapport, influence others, negotiate and mediate resolutions. Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, belonging and building a caring and respectful workplace. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities under strict timelines. Strong technical capabilities with broad experience in software development, systems implementation and/or enterprise infrastructure. Thorough working knowledge of various Microsoft applications, including the M365 suite of applications (Project, Planner, Teams, and Visio).
