We are currently looking for Laboratory Technician for our client based out of Mississauga. Duration: 3-6 months with potential for extension and conversionLocation: Onsite at MississaugaShift timings: Day/Afternoon/Weekend shifts as requiredResponsibilities: • Keeping samples and panels properly labelled and organized into appropriate folders for future reference• Weighing out materials on scales accurately following instructions for calibration panels• Maintaining cleanliness in the lab area and office setting• Using appropriate control forms, work instructions and adhering to applicable SOPs.
• Maintaining good record-keeping practices• Use spectrophotometer to scan calibration panels• Adhering to quality and safety programs• Ensure awareness with all actual and potential health and safety hazards in the area of responsibility• Other duties and projects assignedQualifications and Experience: • Degree/Diploma in chemistry/chemical or related stream in science/engineering. • Minimum 1-2 years of work experience in a similar lab based roles working with weighing scale and different instruments. • Ability to work in lab with accuracy.
• Knowledge of concepts, equipment and procedures used within a laboratory environment• Strong English communication skills both verbal and written• Knowledge of essential computer software (Word, Excel, Power Point etc. )• Project management capabilities• Flexibility for Shift Work and able to work on Weekends if required
