The RoleThe KGSP Student Advising Lead provides leadership and oversight to a team of Student Advisors who support Saudi students participating in the KAUST Gifted Student Program (KGSP) while they pursue their undergraduate studies at international universities.The Lead is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality advising services that meet the academic, personal, and administrative needs of KGSP students, fostering their successful academic journeys and personal growth.ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Supervision:Lead and mentor a team of KGSP Student Advisors, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.Oversee the daily operations of the student advising team, ensuring the timely and effective delivery of advising services.Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for student advising within the KGSP.Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.Program Coordination and Support:Collaborate with the Head of KGSP and other team members to ensure the seamless integration of student advising into the overall program strategy.Contribute to the development and implementation of student support initiatives and programs.Assist in the planning and execution of KGSP events and activities related to student advising.Stay informed about relevant policies and procedures at KAUST and partner universities.Student Support and Engagement:Maintain a caseload of KGSP students, providing direct advising support as needed.Monitor the academic progress and well-being of KGSP students, identifying and addressing any challenges or concerns.Collaborate with host universities and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of support services to KGSP students.Contribute to the development and dissemination of informative materials to students regarding academic policies, resources, and opportunities.Outreach and Communication:Represent the KGSP student advising team at relevant events and meetings.Build and maintain relationships with partner universities and other stakeholders involved in supporting KGSP students.Contribute to the development of marketing and outreach materials related to student advising.QualificationsBachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field.Proficiency in English and Arabic.Required SkillsDemonstrated leadership and management skills.Strong understanding of student development theory and practice.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advising skills.Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse stakeholders.Cultural sensitivity and awareness.Knowledge of the Saudi education systemProficiency in English and Arabic.Preferred SkillsMaster's degree in higher education administration, student services, counseling, or a related field.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working directly with students within higher education, preferably in an international context.Experience with academic advising, student support services, and program coordination.Experience leading and supervising teams.Familiarity with international university systems and cultures.
