Job Description

The Sr. Director of Product Development and Art is a critical role within our organization, responsible for all product development from ideation through to approving pre-production samples to hand off to our production team. This role requires an understanding of leading teams, end to end consumer product development, creating new and exciting products. The Product Development Team Lead works closely with cross-functional internal and external teams to ensure products are developed to brief requirements, on time, driving customer satisfaction. The Sr. Director of Product Development and Art reports to the Branded Division General Manager. Work Location:

Onsite at Encinitas, CA Office*Willing to provide relocation for those willing to relocate to the San Diego area*Compensation: $150k - $180kEssential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading the Product Development and Art team to ensure all work is executed on time and meeting customer and consumer expectationsAccountable for the development of new products based on direction provided by sales, in collaboration with cross functional teams, and contract manufacturers and vendorsResponsible for developing and maintaining vendor relationshipsResponsible for identifying new vendor opportunities to diversity supplier optionsOwns the maintenance of existing products to ensure products continue to meet quality and cost standards through its life cycleResponsible for creating and maintaining product P&Ls, meeting gross margin and contribution margin requirementsResponsible for identifying and maintaining key metrics to achieve scorecard goalsProvide clear direction to both Product Development and Art to meet customer timelinesResponsible for ensuring all products meet claims and regulatory requirements in collaboration with the Quality and Regulatory teamSupports Sales and Production Planning teams with ongoing product and component forecastsSupports Quality Assurance and Control throughout the development of new items and supports problem solving as requiredDrives continuous improvement opportunities where identifiedQualifications:

Bachelor's degree; 8+ years of experience in consumer product development, preferably within bath and beauty productsPrevious leadership experienceExperience with building new and existing internal and external relationshipsAbility to travel as needed to CM locations during production runs, located in the LA areaStrong critical thinking and analytical skills, with a problem-solving mindsetComfort in managing multiple projects, working with various cross functional groupsExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong sense of ownership, proactive, can-do attitude with a passion for exceeding customer expectationsCuriosity and vigor to learn, grow and challenge the status quoExperience with NetSuite or similar ERP systemAdvanced Microsoft Office Suite skills in particular with Excel and PowerPointPowered by JazzHRiS7y7PSDzZ
