Lab Automation engineer

About the job Role summary: "Gensinta" is a biotechnology company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for synthetic gene synthesis that address critical challenges in synthetic biology field. As Lab Automation Engineer in our Technology Engineering Department, you'll contribute to development and implementation of automated high throughput workflows that push the technological boundaries of current gene synthesis platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in laboratory automation, liquid handling systems, and workflow automation. This role requires creativity, agility, and a passion for learning.   KEY Responsibilities: Program & optimize robotic platforms such as Biomek i5, Echo 525, Integra Assist Plus.  Writing and refining custom scripts, liquid classes, labware definitions, and scheduling methods.   Own the reliability lifecycle—proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain instruments; partner with vendors and service engineers to minimize downtime and extend system longevity.   Design and validate automated workflows—developing protocols, performance qualifications, and maintenance documentation while training operators on best practices.   Integrate robotics with informatics—collaborate with software, bioinformatics, and other teams to connect automated systems with LIMS, scheduling software, and other digital tools.  Requirements for qualification / Education / Experience: Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field. 2+ years of full-time work experience with the laboratory instruments. Strong communication, problem-solving, logical thinking, and hands-on abilities. Good knowledge of Lithuanian and English (written and spoken). Other Desirable Qualifications: Experience with scheduling/integration software (Biosero Green Button Go, Thermofisher Momentum or custom platforms). Scripting/coding skills (Python, Java, C#). Industry experience preferred.  The company offers: Personal and professional career opportunities in high-tech sector Flexible work hours  Health insurance Complimentary snacks and coffee at the office Trip to/from work compensation Salary 2200 – 3200 Eur/month before tax or more for exceptional candidates
