Laboratory Technician

Delox is looking for a Laboratory Technician, with an entrepreneurial spirit, ready to contribute to work within both local and global teams in a pioneering technological start-up.About DeloxDelox is a spin-off born in 2018 from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and in 2024 created its US branch Delox USA. Delox technology consists of a solid formulation of hydrogen peroxide that enables the design of a new generation of bio-decontamination devices for various industries. Delox's mission is to successfully solve the problem of microbial contamination and is currently focused on infection control and eradicating the need for social distancing. We are designing a new generation of bio-decontamination devices to be integrated into HVAC systems – and we need your help for that!What do we need?Bachelor’s or Master’s in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related fieldSolid experience in laboratory workComfortable working with microbial cultures and sterile proceduresFamiliarity with microbiology techniques is highly valuedProactive, independent thinker, and initiative takerVersatile and able to adapt to various tasks and situationsExcellent collaborative skills and ability to work well within a teamProficient in written and spoken Portuguese and EnglishWhat will you do?Contribute to microbiological testing that helps us validate our bio-decontamination tech - from air sampling to high-level microbial culture assessments.Work closely with the team to develop and test our bio-decontamination equipment, helping us refine and improve our air-cleaning processes.Keep clear, accurate notes on experiments, observations and results so the whole team can learn and move fast together.Support day-to-day lab operations, like preparing materials and media, keeping equipment in good shape, and helping maintain a smooth-running workspace.Be involved in producing and packaging our bio-decontamination formulations, including carrying out quality checks to make sure everything meets our standards.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary, friendly team to brainstorm and build the next generation of bio-decontamination solutions.What do we offer?Permanent contractCompetitive salary To work on an innovative start-up with an ambitious projectAn entrepreneurial experience rooted in the Portuguese start-up ecosystem and branches worldwideFriendly and very collaborative company cultureMeal cardEasily accessible workplace in Lisbon
