Laboratory Technician

ResponsibilitiesAttend to lab request sheets handed in by the teachersClear and clean all apparatus after each experiment and periodically clean up all laboratories and the chemical storeroom and microscope slidesCheck that all electrical equipment, sensors and meters are in working order and monitor maintenance requests for the laboratoriesPerform safety procedures such as checking first aid cabinets, eyewash stations etcUpdate science records on the computerPurchasing of essential items for experiments e.g. plants. Monitor and regularly update the chemicals/stock list on the computerMaintain lists and contact numbers for suppliersCheck stock and replenish empty bench reagentsTo assist where possible when a teacher is absentAssist students with their practical workSupport senior students with their practical work for Extended Essays, Internal Assessments and Group 4 projects. This involves preparing chemicals and equipment and assisting the students while the experimental work is being carried out. This could also be during school holidays/in-service daysKeep up to date with laboratory safety (CLEAPPS) and file documentsAttend to teacher request for photo-copying for lessons/ examinationsAttend to any requests from science teachersRequirementsYou should possess a diploma in Science/Chemistry or other related fields.You should possess preferably 2 years’ experience in a school laboratoryLocation21 Preston Road (Company transport provided at Queenstown MRT station)Working ScheduleMon-Fri, 8am -5pmISS International School is committed to safeguarding the well-being of our students and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
