Must be in Dallas, TX or within driving distanceJob Summary: The Clinical Care Specialist is a focused role to better engage patients directly, supporting their selection of top-quality providers available through Lantern and support for in depth questions related to their surgical needs.

We are seeking a Clinical Care Specialist who brings a diverse clinical background, including Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), Registered Nurses (RNs) Medical Assistants, Case Managers, Utilization Review, perioperative and/or pre-authorization experience. These qualifications are crucial for this role as they provide a foundational understanding of patient care, anatomy, and clinical processes that will enhance our ability to support patients throughout their surgical journey. Candidates with experience in musculoskeletal (MSK) care, joint replacement, spine surgeries general surgery, and bariatric specialties will find their knowledge particularly valuable in advocating for patients and helping navigate them through their healthcare experience.

This role will drive improved patient experience and stronger utilization of our services by leveraging the unique expertise of individuals from various clinical backgrounds. Key Responsibilities: Advocate for and work closely with internal customer care teams to ensure members receive comprehensive support throughout their surgery journey. Serve as a resource for frontline internal care advocate team and members, providing guidance on various topics including specialist selection and specialty specific questions. Engage members in understanding the Lantern Surgery Care program, its value, and the importance of specialist quality.

Collaborate with the Lantern Clinical Leadership Team and Medical Advisory Board on challenging cases. Ensure appropriateness of specialist recommendations by reviewing patient information and understanding the Lantern network of providers. Help ensure ongoing training for frontline care advocates to enhance their knowledge of all aspects of our surgery care space. Provide clinical insight into standard surgical preparation and recoveryReinforce the importance of discharge instructionsMonitor and assess member comprehension of program content to ensure effective engagement and understanding. Duties and Expectations:

Manage high-volume inbound and outbound calls, enabling members to utilize our benefits through tailored provider recommendation discussions focused on quality. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding provider choices and comprehensive understanding of surgery and the provider network. Meet and exceed metrics of success as outlined by management, documenting feedback and opportunities to increase member selection of top-quality providers for consultation and surgery. Collaborate cross-functionally to highlight various nuances that should be communicated to patients. Function in an organized and time-conscious manner to effectively manage responsibilities. Requirements: For Registered Nurses (RNs):

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution. Active RN license in good standing. Clinical experience in perioperative nursing, care coordination, case management, or a related healthcare setting preferred. For Alternate Clinical Backgrounds: Degree or diploma in a relevant field such as: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Associate degree or vocational training and active licensure. Medical Assistant (MA) – Certification or diploma from an accredited program. Physician Assistant (PA) – Bachelor's or Master's degree and certification. Health Sciences – Bachelor's degree with clinical or patient-facing experience. Licensure and Certification:

Active professional license or certification is a plus, but not mandatory. Registered Nurse (RN): Active and unrestricted RN Compact State Licensure or eligibility to obtain. Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN): Current LVN license in good standing. Certified Case Manager (CCM): CCM certification preferredExperience and Skills: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in office or clinical practice, with a particular focus in Bariatrics, Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, General Surgery, or a relevant clinical specialty.

Experience in patient care, medical administration, or support roles can be beneficialAdvanced communication abilities, including empathy, active listening, and emotional intelligence, to effectively engage with members and healthcare teams. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex healthcare situationsTechnical skills related to the specific role (e. g. , proficiency in medical software, familiarity with medical equipment)Knowledge in navigation health programs and demonstrated experience communicating with patientsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and possess typing abilities.
