Roles And ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of the end-to-end mechanical design process, from requirements gathering, detailed concept development, prototyping, and iterative validation to final implementation for retail infrastructure and products, with a strong focus on design engineer best practices.Drive innovation in design methodologies, utilizing advanced engineering tools and simulation techniques to optimize product performance, manufacturability, and reliability.Oversee design reviews and analysis, ensuring that design outputs meet functional, regulatory, and safety standards while adhering to project specifications.Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to translate user needs and product requirements into functional, manufacturable mechanical solutions, maintaining alignment throughout the development cycle.Identify opportunities to improve design productivity and quality by adopting emerging technologies and best industry practices in the mechanical design domain.Prepare, review, and maintain detailed design documentationsuch as 3D models, engineering drawings, and bills of materialsto support efficient project execution, handover, and compliance audits.Engage in continuous improvement initiatives related to mechanical design processes, including conducting design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), lessons learned, and corrective action planning.Mentor and support the development of junior design engineers, encouraging a culture of technical excellence, collaborative problem-solving, and professional growth within the team.
