Lead Frontend Engineer

This Job is with Neem, a Fin-tech based in Karachi.What Are We Looking ForWe are looking for a seasoned Lead Frontend Engineer to drive architecture, elevate user experiences, and mentor a high-performing team of engineers. In this role, you will own the technical vision and execution of our web interfaces across platforms. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps to build performant, maintainable, and scalable UIs that deliver business impact. You will set the tone for code quality, lead architectural decisions, and inspire a team of engineers to thrive and grow.Your ResponsibilitiesTechnical leadershipDefine and evolve the frontend architecture for new features, modules, and cross-cutting concerns (state management, theming, performance)Drive frontend codebase modernization, introducing scalable design patterns and enforcing best practicesLead design and architecture reviews, documenting decisions and trade-offsFrontend developmentBuild responsive, accessible, pixel-perfect UIs using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS (and complementary technologies like Bootstrap or Flutter for mobile‐web views)Champion performance improvements (lazy loading, bundle splitting, virtual scrolling, etc.)Integrate with RESTful APIs, caching layers, and observability toolingDrive end-to-end UX delivery in collaboration with Product and DesignTeam enablement & mentorshipMentor frontend engineers through pair programming, architecture sessions, and code reviewsEstablish code quality standards and guide the team in upholding themFoster a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and engineering excellenceAgile deliveryParticipate in sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and delivery trackingUnblock the team during delivery; estimate and de-risk technical scopes earlyPartner with QA and DevOps to maintain deployment pipelines, testing strategies, and CI/CD flowsYou should apply ifExperience6+ years of professional frontend engineering experience in production systemsProven track record of technical leadership and mentoring team membersFront-End expertiseDeep hands-on experience with React (hooks, context, performance profiling)Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, and modern CSS paradigmsFamiliarity with micro-frontends, monorepos, and modular design patternsBonus: Experience with cross-platform UI frameworks like Flutter, React NativeSystems thinkingComfortable designing component libraries, design systems, and state management strategies (Redux, Zustand, etc.)Deep understanding of browser internals, rendering lifecycle, and performance tuningAgile & communication skillsComfortable working in Scrum-based sprints; adept at sprint ceremonies and estimationExcellent verbal and written communication; able to translate technical concepts for non-engineering stakeholdersYou are aligned with our Neem core values and ready to show up daily in sync with those principles (below)Our Neem core values: Our purpose is our north star We put autonomy over control️- We roll with YES mindset We speak up openly We care about our impact️- We nurture ourselvesAt Neem, we are always on the lookout for remarkable talent, values fit, competence, and people driven by purpose.
