            Position - Lead I&C Engineer (Project)Bazian Power Plant Expansion Project - Sulaymaniyah - Kurdistan.Job Purpose :To lead all instrumentation and control-related activities during the construction and conversion phase of the Bazian-II Combined Cycle Power Plant project. This role ensures successful implementation of DCS (Mark VIe), PLCs, instrumentation systems, and protection interfaces in line with industry standards and project technical specifications.Main Tasks & Accountabilities1. Individual Accountabilities:Supervise installation and testing of DCS (Mark VIe), PLCs, SIS, and field instrumentation, ensuring compliance with design specs.Verify instrumentation index, hook-up diagrams, and loop checks to prevent commissioning delays.Review and approve I&C logic diagrams, I/O lists, and interface documentation for system integration.Lead pre-commissioning activities, including field testing, loop validation, and functional checks.Ensure proper tagging, calibration, and accessibility of all instruments prior to handover.2. Parameters of Success:Zero open loops or missing interlocks impacting commissioning timelines.First-time approval of BMS/DCS/SIS pre-commissioning with no rework.Complete and approved O&M documentation, including SOPs and calibration records.Full SIS compliance with functional safety standards (IEC 61511/61508) and traceability.3. Desired Characteristics:Detail-oriented with strong technical expertise in control systems (DCS/PLC/SIS).Proficient in fieldbus networks (Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus) and system architecture.Effective communicator with OEMs, vendors, and cross-disciplinary teams.Problem-solver with a structured approach to troubleshooting and documentation.4. Key Culture & Leadership Behaviors:Champion safety and redundancy in control system design and execution.Collaborate closely with Electrical, Mechanical, and QA/QC teams to avoid integration clashes.Drive accountability for loop integrity and system readiness before energization.Insist on rigorous documentation (as-builts, test reports, calibration logs).5. Interfaces & Coordination:Internal: Construction Manager, QA/QC, Electrical, Mechanical, Process Engineering.External: EPC I&C Contractors, DCS/PLC Vendors (e.g., GE, Siemens, Honeywell), Third-Party Inspectors.6. Authority:Full oversight of all relevant construction activities, ensuring compliance with design, quality, and safety standards.Authority to stop work if non-conformances in any activities are detected.Approve/reject contractor submissions (method statements, ITPs, material approvals) before execution.Direct coordination with engineering, QA/QC, and other disciplines to resolve relevant conflicts, however line manager should be informed.Background Knowledge & Experience.
