DescriptionGrade and Salary: Grade 6 £31,236 - £36,636FTE And Working Pattern35 hours weekly, open endedMorning, evening and occasional weekend workOrganisation Name: Oriam: Scotland’s Sports Performance CentrePurpose of Role: To provide sport science services for Oriam user groups including; Sports Union Clubs, Sports Scholarships Programme, Oriam Performance Programme, BSc Sport & Exercise Science, and key partner organisations e.g. the Scottish Football Association.Summary Of Key Duties And ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the delivery of sport science services to the different sport scholarship programmesPlan, deliver and review sport science services including but not limited to; gym based S&C sessions, conditioning based sessions, rehab based session, and recovery sessions Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with athletes, coaches and medical staff to provide evidence based support for the development of athletes, such as injury risk identification or rehab programmes Recruit, manage and coordinate a team of Sport ScientistsContract and deliver sport science services to external clientsEnsure delivery against health & safety protocols set out by Performance Sport Manager Manage the software and equipment used for sport science programme Coordinate placement programmes and support student research projects as appropriateCoordinate CPD to support the development of sport science staff teamEducation, Qualifications & ExperienceThese are the criteria on which the short-listing and recruitment selection will be based.EssentialEducated to undergraduate degree level in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience UKSCA or BASES Accredited (or the ability to achieve this within 12 months)Experience of working with athletes within a similar performance environment as outlined above for at least 3 years.Competent in the use of relevant IT packages Well-developed interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrable professional and proactive approachAbility to develop relationships with a range of stakeholdersDemonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a dynamic, changing and pressured environmentDemonstrable provision of excellent customer service Ability to manage peopleDesirableEducated to masters level in a relevant disciplineExperience working with GPS and heart rate technology, and management / reporting of dataExperience of developing new business / business retentionHow To ApplyApplications with FULL CV and cover letter can be submitted up to midnight (UK time) on Sunday, 16th November 2025About Oriam: Oriam has a vision to inspire, engage and motivate our communities through the facilities we provide and the interactions we have with our customers.
