Job Description

Design & Build are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter / Supervisor to join a growing custom residential builder with projects across the inner eastern and western suburbs.Our client is an emerging builder delivering bespoke new homes, renovations, and extensions valued up to $1.5m. With a strong pipeline of ongoing and upcoming projects, they’re looking to bring a motivated and capable Leading Hand on board to support continued growth.This role would suit a skilled carpenter who enjoys being hands-on while taking on greater responsibility, working closely with the Director to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Acting as a second-in-charge within the business, this is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to step up and grow with the business.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeAssisting in leading and coordinating teams across multiple sitesPlanning daily and weekly schedules, allocating work, and tracking progressOrdering and coordinating materials, tools, and equipmentEnsuring site safety, compliance, and presentation standards are maintainedLiaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teamsRepresenting the business professionally with clients, consultants, and tradesWorking on the tools as required to support your team and keep projects on trackThe ideal candidate will have:Experience delivering high-end or custom residential projectsProven ability to lead, coordinate, and motivate teamsStrong understanding of construction sequencing, premium finishes, and site logisticsConfidence reading and interpreting plans and drawings, with attention to detailExcellent problem-solving skills and initiativeThe ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and controlFor any questions relating to this role or other opportunities with D&B and our clients please contact Bree Wiltshire on (03) 8535 3100 or click apply.
