Job Description
This role is responsible for designing, developing, editing, and managing digital learning content and materials aligned with instructional and institutional goals. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Head of School (HOS) to transform traditional academic content into engaging, high-quality digital learning experiences.Position Duties & Responsibilities:Write, edit, and structure instructional content for blended delivery (Online, In-Person and Hybrid) using instructional design best practices.Develop and update learning materials such as Learner Guides, Fact Sheets, Course Outlines, and assessments.Upload and maintain content on LMS platforms, ensuring alignment with instructional design documents.Create assemblies and online forms; manage content archiving and updates.Link assemblies to the relevant subjects to ensure that it is available before the subject start date.Work closely with SMEs, HOS, and academic managers to align content with programme outcomes.Manage content schedules, editorial calendars, and project tracking to ensure on-time delivery.Monitor and report on the content production process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.Review and improve content based on learning outcomes and quality standards.Research and apply new learning technologies and design trends.Contribute to continuous improvement based on areas for improvement identified by various stakeholders, including but not limited to HOS, Lecturers, Peers and Students.Maintain documentation and tracking sheets.Perform ad-hoc tasks in support of content operations, course updates as needed.Application Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Linguistics, or related field (preferred).Experience in instructional content creation for online or blended learning environments.Proficient with Content Management Systems (CMS), Learner Management Systems (LMS), and digital learning tools.Strong command of written English with attention to clarity, grammar, and structure.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with higher education academic standards and quality frameworks.The following attributes are linked to the Code of Conduct:Must be able to work under pressure.Excellent attention to detail.Be innovative and efficient in solving problems.Comfortable interacting with external development teams and stakeholders at multiple levels.Professional phone and email étiquette.Excellent communication and people skills.People Centricity – Respectful and helpful nature when dealing with clients, peers, and colleagues.Urgency – The position requires decisiveness, quick responses, and fast action.Self-Control – The ability to govern one’s emotions and reactions is a key part of customer service.Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to assess a situation to determine the severity of a problem and escalate when required.Able to prioritise tasks and deliver clear and concise feedback.Salary Range: R216 000 - R240 000 per annum
