You will coordinate and organise a range of development activities that contribute to the attainment of the Company’s performance standards and Hotel Goals. You will be responsible for conducting a systematic analysis of the hotel's training needs and delivering a relevant learning plan. The Learning and Development Manager acts as an internal consultant on department-related training matters, sources and maintains a current knowledge of statutory requirements and develops creative and innovative training programs.The RoleAssists in identifying key drivers of colleague satisfaction and supports leaders in implementing development plans to enhance performance and engagement.Be responsible for facilitating hotel orientation programs and other training sessions as required, ensuring all new and existing colleagues receive the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their roles effectively.Coordinates with departments and HR colleagues to develop and deliver learning and development initiatives that support business goals, succession planning, and career growth.Assists in the implementation of Human Resources strategies and initiatives to uphold Capella’s brand standards and operational objectives.Supports the growth and performance of individuals through coaching, certification programs, and structured training pathways.Ensures all training documentation, manuals, and certification processes are current, accurate, and aligned with operational needs.Partners with business units to monitor training effectiveness, performance outcomes, and continuous improvement of learning programs.Fosters a culture of excellence through recognition, empowerment, and the demonstration of Capella’s service philosophy.Ensures compliance with all local legislation, upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and fairness in all practices.Talent ProfileTertiary education in Hospitality or Human Resources related.Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role at luxury hotels/resorts.Hotel operational experience is preferred.Highly organised with excellent people skills.Passionate about the hotel and hospitality industry.Must have valid existing work rights in Australia.Working with Capella SydneyJoin a vibrant and nurturing workplace.Work in elegantly designed areas while enjoying amenities in a historic building.Benefit from online LinkedIn training courses aimed at your personal and professional growth.Savour complimentary meals during your shifts.Enjoy discounts for hotels and group bookings.Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential counselling and support.Celebrate your birthday with special leave.Embrace opportunities for growth and advancement within the organisation.
