ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will be responsible for: Teaching at undergraduate level to basic medical science students, medical, dentistry, radiography, physiotherapy, nursing and occupational therapy students; Teaching at postgraduate level; Being involved in curriculum development and innovation; Being actively involved and participating in research; Supervising or co-supervising Honours and Master’s students; Publishing in peer-reviewed accredited journals and Performing administrative and academic responsibilities. Minimum Requirements Master’s degree in Physiology or Biochemistry; Minimum of 2 accredited publications in peer-reviewed journals (ideally more, preferably in the last 3 years and in ISI journals) Required Competencies (skills, Knowledge And Behavioural Attributes) Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Mentoring skills; Communication skills; The ability to work independently and in a team; Demonstrated potential to become an established researcher; Some first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals; Experience in interdisciplinary, national or international collaborative research; Experience in basic sciences-related techniques (such as advanced cell culturing, molecular biology techniques or proteomics and bioinformatics) with biomedical relevance. Added Advantages And Preferences PhD in Physiology; At least 1 year teaching experience; Valid driver’s Licence. The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
