Robert Half Talent Solutions is searching for a Legal Counsel specialized in institutional investment for one of its clients in the financial services sector.Are you ready to take your next career step in a dynamic investment environment? Join a leading institutional investor in Belgium, managing an impressive €70+ billion portfolio.About the role: As Legal Counsel, you'll play a key role in supporting the Chief Investment Office (CIO) investment activities. You’ll be empowered to take ownership of impactful projects, working at the intersection of regulatory change and complex financial transactions. Your proactive approach will help shape strategic decisions and drive the team’s success.Your responsibilities:Draft, review and negotiate contracts with investment counterparties (ISDAs, CSAs, GMRAs, loans, derivatives, etc.) and service providers, confidentiality agreements, letter of intents, and all sorts of investment-related legal documents.Manage KYC, CRS, MiFID, FATCA and other due diligence requests relating to investment operations.Monitor and analyse evolving European and Belgian regulations, including publications by local financial authorities, to assess impact and risks for the investment department.Provide expert legal and compliance advice on financial law matters, collaborating regularly with other departments.Assist compliance and audit teams with legal consultations as required.Contribute to legal reviews of large-scale acquisitions and other strategic investment projects.Your profile:Master’s degree in Law.2–5 years’ relevant experience in financial law or investment-related contracts, ideally within a financial institution, law firm, asset manager or corporate investment team.Familiarity with regulations such as MiFID, SFDR, CSRD, AML, FATCA, CRS, MAR, EMIR is highly valued.In-depth understanding of investment structures, financial instruments and insurance regulatory frameworks.Solution-oriented, proactive, and comfortable taking responsibility for driving files forward; able to work both independently and as a committed team player.Assertive communicator, not afraid to defend your viewpoint with clarity and professionalism.Excellent command of English, with strong proficiency in French and/or Dutch; passive knowledge of the third language is an advantage.What’s in for you:Be part of a central, visible team with broad exposure across a major investment group.Enjoy high autonomy, supportive leadership (no micro-management), and a non-siloed scope where you’ll handle a variety of contracts and transactions—not just repetitive standard templates.A competitive salary package with attractive benefits, hybrid work (up to 3 remote days/week) and 35 vacations days.Vibrant company culture rated top marks for positivity and teamwork, plenty of opportunities for professional development and training, and a wellness program to support your overall wellbeing.Interested ?
