Complex Litigation refers to Commercial, Corporate, Commercial Real Estate, etc. Litigation. NOT Personal Injury or Insurance Defense. 5 days on-site requiredHours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PMStart date must be within 3 weeks of offer acceptanceStrong foundation in complex litigation E-filing experience in both state and federal courtsHighly skilled Legal Assistant needed in our Downtown Fort Lauderdale office. The Legal Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Litigation practice group and boosting attorney efficiency by managing information and aiding in the delivery of legal services, including client interactions. This position demands a proactive attitude to ensure tasks are completed on time, exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to excel in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This position does include a portion of paralegal duties, and the individual will be expected to track and record their own billable time. Minimum of seven years' experience working with Commercial Litigation. Knowledge of e-filing in FL state and federal court, required. E-Discovery experience and knowledge of Relativity is a plus. Duties and Responsibilities:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Handle general correspondence.File of both physical and electronic documents.Take client calls, connecting all incoming calls.Responsible for all aspects of client intake including collection of all pertinent information, file opening, engagement documents, etc.Schedule and coordinate meetings including videoconferences, and conference calls.Manage attorneys’ contacts, schedule, and calendar.Enter time for timekeeper and print reports as requested.Process expense reports and check requests.Track all billable and nonbillable time in 3EFind and retrieve information from files.Assist with follow up on AR collection.Assist attorneys in preparation for meetings.Prepare and finalize pleadings in accordance with applicable State and Federal rules for filing with courtAssist with document retrieval, reviews, organization, and productions Maintain case pleadings, correspondence, and discoveryMaintain and use document, transcript, and work product databasesPrepare for depositions, i.e., prep. binders, exhibits, and all other discovery related tasksWork with supervising attorney to organize and prepare exhibit lists and/or privilege logsCoordinate work with outside document/litigation vendors, including adherence to strict deadlinesCoordinate and assist with trial preparations, i.e., exhibits, witness binders, and demonstrativesProvide organizational and legal support at trial, such as assist with jury selection, presentation and maintenance of exhibits, and witness coordination.Assist with case docketing, including court and discovery deadlinesMaintain confidentiality of client informationProvide legal and non-legal administrative support to attorneysOther duties as assigned
