Legal Director Location: Riyadh, Saudi ArabiaEmployer: Artificial Intelligence Developer Responsibilities:Team leader role responsible for all corporate legal matters for company matters in KSA and where required, the wider Middle East and Africa region.Build, oversee, and supervise a legal team to deliver best-in-class legal services for the company internal clients and manage all relevant legal risks in KSAReview, draft, prepare, and negotiate companies contracts with commercial counterpartiesResearch, develop, prepare and maintain a variety of legal documentation related to companies MEA matters (including operational documents such as licenses, compliance, employment-related documents, and corporate secretarial related documents).Review and interpret statutes, rules and policies which are relevant to the regulatory environment international operations and its corporate subsidiaries, and work with internal clients to meet their sales, distribution and business objectives within the relevant regulatory environment.Assist where required and necessary in reviewing and/or drafting internal and external materials in signing and closing various corporate transactions, participating in negotiations with external parties, and managing post-completion legal issues.Assist in corporate structuring advice (such as research into and advice on setting up of new corporate entities in various jurisdictions)Provide legal guidance, advice, and strategy on the registration, protection, enforcement, and monetization of company MEA’s IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.Monitor and advise on potential IP infringement cases and assist in formulating strategies for resolution or litigation.Work with and oversee the work provided by outside counsel/service providers on a variety of legal matters ensuring that standards for service delivery and cost are met.Work with other members of the Legal team at the Group level to ensure that institutional practices and Group-level policies are reflected at the MEA levelPerform additional services as requested.Required Qualifications and Experience:At least 10-12 years of experience in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house in a technology company. Capital markets experience in KSA is a plus. UK/US Bar qualification is a plus.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to communicate and/or read and write in Arabic and English.Ability to read and write in Mandarin (to deal with internal stakeholders and Chinese legal issues insofar as relevant to the international context) is highly desirable but not compulsory.Clear logical mind, detail oriented, organized and professional.Sound commercial-oriented legal judgment.Able to work well in a start-up and fast-moving environment.Self-starter who is capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.This is a challenging role for passionate Legal Experts!
