Harneys was the first legal practice in the BVI over 60 years ago, and we continue to play a leading role in the industry.About the roleWe are seeking a driven and talented professional to join our Litigation team as a Legal Secretary. As part of a team of legal secretaries and legal assistants, you will have ownership of tasks, supporting specific Partners and Associates with their tasks.The main duties of the role are:Opening and managing files, Drafting letters, BillingBundling, Filing and lodging documents for courtRequesting cheques and arranging for payment of external invoices, Completing expense forms for fee earnersSorting out visiting counsel work permits, flights, accommodation and car hireArranging the publishing of advertsAudio Transcription of court hearings and meetingsCourt SearchesSUGAR reports and inputting client contact data into SUGARShredding and archiving,Arranging couriersObtaining stamps for filingPreparing service letters and other correspondenceArranging work-related reservations for fee earnersâ business travel, conferences etc.Receiving visitors and deliveries at receptionPlacing lunch orders for meetings with clients and assisting to tidy the conference roomOther tasks to be assigned by the secretaryâs individual fee-earnersFiling Emails for Fee EarnersVarious PA duties, Diary/Calendar ManagementRequirements Minimum of 3 to 5 yearsâ experience in a professional services environment (financial or legal services)University qualification in a relevant fieldAble to work under pressureWell organisedAble to work independently, and as part of a teamKeen attention to detailStrong interpersonal skills, both written and verbalPatient, understanding and tactfulAble to deal with large amounts of informationStrong transcription skillsAbout HarneysHarneys is an international law firm known for its entrepreneurial thinking.
