Position SummaryThe Employee Engagement Specialist plays a key role in delivering a consistent and high-impact employee experience across the full employee lifecycle. This role provides day-to-day support to employees and managers, partners with People Business Partners (PBPs) on employee relations and compliance matters, and owns employee-facing programs that foster engagement, recognition, and a strong sense of culture and connection. In addition to programmatic ownership, the Employee Engagement Specialist provides administrative support across People Operations and the PBP team—ensuring accurate processing of employee transactions, preparation of documentation, and timely response to People-related inquiries.
This role also manages the People team inbox, maintains data accuracy, and supports dashboard development and compliance reporting. The Employee Engagement Specialist balances operational reliability with initiative ownership. This role serves as a connector between People data, employee experience, and scalable infrastructure—advancing both day-to-day operations and longer-term People strategies in a dynamic and evolving environment. This is a Remote/Work from Home position reporting to the Director Employee Experience. What You Will DoEmployee Experience & EngagementOwn and administer lifecycle surveys (onboarding, exit, stay) and the annual & pulse engagement surveys, including coordinating follow-up and action planning with key stakeholders.
Improve and own the end-to-end employee onboarding experience for new hires and new managers. Collaborate with L&D on ongoing updates to new hire orientation. Lead employee recognition programs, including milestone and anniversary recognition, enhancing and iterating for scalability, value, and participation. Identify opportunities to improve employee engagement and experience; propose and implement new programs aligned with People strategy. Own the annual employee appreciation and celebration calendar, including planning and executing Employee Appreciation Month, summer gifting, holiday gifting, and collaborate with the Organizational Development team on virtual team-building and connection activities.
Manage the gift vendor relationship, contracting, and billing for employee appreciation and recognition. Support employee communications including newsletter support, Exec Office Hours milestone slide creation, biannual diversity reporting, and regular People data reporting to leaders. Employee Relations & People ComplianceAddress employee and manager inquiries; provide policy guidance and case resolution support, in partnership with PBPs. Provide general and administrative support to PBP team is requested. Conduct investigations and assist in conflict resolution and corrective action procedures, in partnership with PBPs. Maintain compliance with employment laws and own required compliance reporting (including EEO-1 and audit support) as needed.
Internal HR OperationsManage the People team inbox to ensure accurate, timely responses and appropriate escalation. Partner in the development of People data dashboards to visualize and leverage in decision-making (workforce, diversity, internal mobility, benefits utilization, PTO and leave usage, etc. ) Support People Administration functions including employee transactions, documentation, and People Business Partner (PBP) paperwork. Serve as backup for People administrative systems and processes as needed. Manager EnablementSupport new and developing managers with enablement resources, tools, and best practices.
Leverage People data and insights to help improve management practices and team effectiveness, including lifecycle surveys, diversity reporting, turnover data, and more. Liaise with the Myers-Briggs vendor for team facilitation sessions and follow-up activities, as requested. Ensure utilization and understanding of manager recognition program (team building budget, above and beyond recognition, etc) Employer BrandSupport external employer branding efforts; maintain and update external workplace reputation platforms (e. g. , Glassdoor, Indeed). Lead People team led initiatives to strengthen employer brand (including Great Place to Work Certification), contribute to marketing-led company submissions for external awards as needed.
Continuous ImprovementContribute to the development and implementation of People policies, tools, and processes to scale People programs. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and simplification of People service delivery, with a focus on supporting self-service. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual collaboration tools (e. g. , MS Teams). Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively communicate with employees, managers, and cross-functional partners. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and track deliverables. Demonstrated project coordination or light project management experience (e. g. , managing timelines, stakeholder updates, documentation).
Highly reliable and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through. Empathetic and approachable; skilled in handling sensitive employee interactions with professionalism and care. Adaptable and resourceful in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Proactive and self-directed; able to take initiative, drive timelines, and follow through without constant oversight. Discreet and trustworthy; maintains confidentiality with integrity and professionalism. Proven ability to deliver a high level of customer service and support to internal stakeholders at all levels. PreferredBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certification.
Experience with HRIS systems such as Dayforce, UKG, or Workday. Exposure to survey platforms (e. g. , Gallup, Culture Amp, Glint) and basic data analysis/reporting tools. Experience managing external vendors, contracting, and billing. Background supporting employer branding or external reputation platforms and awards (e. g. , Glassdoor, Great Place to Work, Comparably). Familiarity with building or maintaining People data dashboards (e. g. , using Excel, Power BI, Tableau). Experience supporting employee and leader facing communications (e. g. , newsletters, executive briefings, diversity reports, manager enablement resources).
