Location: Hybrid role – Europe (with occasional visits to the office in Graz, Austria)Reporting To: CEO About EETEET is at the forefront of the clean energy transition, developing and commercializing proprietary IP focused on advanced, non-revenue grade, residential energy metering - our ‘Virtual Meter’ technology. This technology is a combination of hardware and software, which enables real time energy metering to be embedded into a residential energy product, thereby removing the need to rely on external metering solutions like in-line meters.Our VM technology can significantly simplify access to real time metering data for residential energy products such as BESS, EV chargers, Heat pumps, HEMS and other devices. It offers a complete solution for residential energy metering regardless of the type of grid connection (works on 1, split and 3 phase connections) and utility meter setup (always compatible). In addition, our technology is not subject to communication interruptions because of the embedded nature.Depending on the application, our VM technology provides benefits throughout the energy products value chain: it reduces OEM costs, reduces installation effort and costs, and improves end-customer experience and lowers costs.Through licensing our technology to the world's leading energy product OEMs and other potential customers, we help accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Licensing Business Development Manager to drive the adoption and licensing of our core IP within the world’s largest Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and other potential customers. This is a critical, revenue-generating role responsible for identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing complex, high-value licensing agreements across key markets in Europe and the US. The focus is on licensing the technology for integration into Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Electric Vehicles (EVs), Heat Pumps, Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS) and other energy products.You will be the primary commercial owner for establishing long-term partnerships with global industry leaders, effectively positioning our technology as the standard for simple real time residential energy metering.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify high-potential licensing targets among regional and global OEMs (e.g. BESS, EV charging, Heat Pump, HEMS providers), metering solution providers and other potential license customersDevelop in-depth understanding of the benefits EETs technology can deliver for each specific license customer, clearly articulating the technical and commercial value proposition of our metering technologyIdentify key staff at license customers to champion license and integration of EETs technology and drive (cold) reach out to these championsLeverage own industry network(s) and the networks of other EET executives and advisors to bring EETs technology to the attention of the decision makers at license customersCoordinate technical review / due diligence of EETs technology by license customersDesign fit for purpose licensing models, specifically tailored to enable broad adoption of EETs technology into mass-market residential hardware.Lead negotiations on all commercial terms, working closely with EET leadership to ensure successful closing of license agreements on EETs termsServe as the bridge between the license customers and our internal Engineering teams; capture and communicate market requirements, specific customer needs and other relevant feedbackCoordinate technical deep-dives on technical integrationProvide accurate pipeline forecasting, detailed opportunity status reports, and strategic feedback to the Executive teamRequired Qualifications8+ years of commercial experience, ideally in technology licensingProven track record of successfully negotiating and closing complex technology sales / cooperations (ideally licensing) within the energy, utility, or industrial IoT sectors.Masters degree in Economics, Business or Engineering, or a related technical field.An established network with OEMs, component and accessory manufacturers in Residential Energy Products segments (BESS, EV charging, Heat Pumps, HEMS, etc)An understanding of the residential energy metering space (e.g. standards, regulatory compliance), and OEM product cycles is highly desirable.Strong customer facing presentation and communication skills, specifically with both product / engineering teams and executivesComfortable with complex contracting negotiations and deal structuring (royalties, term sheets).Strong financial acumen, including experience with financial modeling, NPV analysis, and ROI calculations for technology deployment.Ability to travel in Europe (up to 40%) to meet with prospective licensees and attend key industry events.Why EETWe feel strongly about building a collaborative and supportive workplace culture and we seek candidates who share our vision of empowering everyone to take part in the global energy transition.
