LIME Chef â Assistant SupervisorNecker IslandNecker Island.Sir Richard Bransonâs private island and home based in the British Virgin Islands is unquestionably the most idyllic place in the Caribbean. At 74 acres, Necker sits in turquoise waters surrounded by coral reefs and fringed with white sandy beaches. The island can be hired exclusively for up to 48 people and is the perfect destination for any special occasion, it can also be shared with others as a âhouse-partyâ style booking during âIndividual Staysâ which are held several times each year when guests can book individual rooms. Accommodation comes in the form of 12 rooms in the Great House and 6 individual Bali Houses dotted around the island. The property can also be rented for large events and weddings for up to 200 people.Necker Islands style is âbarefoot luxuryâ our aim is to create for our guests a feeling of coming home. We want our guests to feel completely at ease from the moment they step onto the island to when they depart from our beautiful red dock. Itâs just two miles South of Necker and our team at times may find themselves offering support to the BBE team.Reporting to the LIME Supervisor, the LIME Chef- Assistant Supervisor is responsible for supporting the LIME team (Staff Canteen) in preparing and delivering high-quality meals for Necker Staff. This role is perfect for someone passionate about food, committed to hygiene excellence, and eager to contribute to a vibrant, team-focused environment.For more info on the hotel and the group look at www.virginlimitededition.com and follow the link to Necker Island.Hereâs what you need to have:Qualifications / Experienceâ Previous experience award-winning, Michelin or 5-star establishmentsâ Previous experience in a kitchen, preferably in a staff or buffet settingâ Excellent knowledge of food safety, storage, health standards and nutritionq Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-paced environmentq Flexible and proactive attitudeâ Versatile in providing different styles of cuisine (i.e. Asian, Italian, Caribbean, plant based, etc.)â Good menu planning with a sustainable approach in the choice of ingredients and costing capabilitiesâ Ability to be versatile and cover all verities of dietary requirements.â International or Caribbean experience an advantageBehaviours / Skillsâ A working chef who is totally hands-onâ Able to work with and accommodate different culturesâ Excellent staff communication skills/ socially confidentq Team player with a positive attitudeq Respectful, discreet, and professional demeanorâ Plans and organises effectivelyâ High degree of attention to detailâ Results and standards orientatedâ Good training/ coaching skillsâ Passion and pride in their workâ Able to perform gracefully under pressureâ Sense of funWhatâs the gig?Hereâs what youâd do:â Assist with the management of the LIME Kitchen team to maintain an exemplary level of food standards reflecting the needs and requirements of team members.q Support the Lime Supervisor with planning, paperwork, and stock deliveriesq Set up and monitor buffet stations and meal timings for optimal qualityq Ensure proper storage, rotation, and security of stock and kitchen equipmentq Assist in kitchen equipment maintenance and reporting malfunctionsq Liaise with the Executive Chef and Lime Supervisor on menu and staff needsâ Balance staff menus with budget and staff contentment levels.â Commit to training the team and developing those with potential with a view to internal promotion.â The location of the property and the team size means that everyone is hands on and this includes assisting with the unpacking of all food deliveries and ensuring that the proper storage is given.â Maintain the highest level of hygiene as per the standards of Virgin Limited Edition and as per the standards of the BVI Health Department and company H&S and HACCP policies, in and outside of the kitchen and the appliances that are used is maintained.Hereâs the dealPackage & Benefitsâ Minimum 12 monthsâ contract (subject to work permit approval if required)â Competitive Salary (subject to local taxes)â Share in the island tips & gratuitiesâ 22 days paid holiday per year plus public holidaysâ Subsistence, Flight & Accommodation allowancesâ Medical Insurance, Life Insurance and Company Pension after qualifying periodâ Initial flights from country of residence (and return at end of contract)â â¦and the worldâs best commute to work!
