Projected start date: As soon as possible.Wisconsin certification 1801 and/or 1810, 1811, or 1830 is required. Multiple certifications are preferred.This position serves as the primary special education teacher within the Integrated Supports Program (ISP), a self-contained, alternative education setting designed for students experiencing complex internalizing and externalizing barriers to learning. The program is a collaborative model staffed by alternative education teachers, a dean of students, and support staff. The Special Education Teacher provides direct instruction and special education services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), consults with IEP case managers from student home schools, and co-plans/co-serves with other educators to meet student needs.Prefer Applicants Possessing The Following QualificationsWisconsin DPI certification in Special Education.Successful experience teaching students face-to-face, online, and in hybrid learning environmentsExperience supporting students with Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (EBD) preferred.Strong understanding of adolescent mental health and trauma-informed practices.Successful experiences facilitating functional behavior assessments and implementing behavioral intervention plans.Familiarity with internalizing and externalizing behavior patterns and effective intervention strategies.Knowledge of special education evaluation practices and IEP development.Demonstrated ability to provide specialized academic instruction across content areas.Experience working in alternative education and/or as part of highly collaborative multidisciplinary teams.Proficient in the use of technology to support learning and data collection.Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR, and First Aid is preferred.Position ResponsibilitiesProvide direct special education instruction and services to students with IEPs in the Integrated Supports Program.Co-plan and co-serve with alternative education teachers to ensure access to high-interest, grade-level curriculum with appropriate supports.Support students in learning and practicing life skills necessary for post-high school success.Collaborate closely with the dean of students, instructional staff, and support staff to integrate academic and social-emotional supports.Conduct functional behavior assessments and support the development and implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans.Serve as a consultant to home school IEP case managers regarding program placement, IEP design, specially designed instruction, and service delivery models.Participate in the special education evaluation process, including assisting with assessments and contributing to evaluation reports.Monitor student progress and participate in IEP meetings, reevaluations, and data reviews.Assist with student transitions, reintegration planning, and coordination of wraparound services.Maintain timely documentation and communication with families and district staff.Other duties as assigned by the district or program supervisor.Applicants are requested not to contact or send application materials to individual building principals.
