Integrates Information Related Capabilities (IRC) across multiple domains, environments, and geographic boundaries, supporting both domestic and overseas operation via Information Operations planners, intelligence analysts, cultural advisors, and linguistsAbout The RolePeraton is seeking to hire a CAT III Arabic (Lebanese) Linguist and Cultural Advisor.Location: Camp Xiphos, Jordan (Secure U.S. Military Compound)Assignment: Unaccompanied, one-year (extendable)Schedule: Full-time, on-site; shift work may be requiredOur Peraton Team is currently seeking a TS/SCI cleared CAT III Arabic (Lebanese) Linguist and Cultural Advisor (CULAD) to join our diverse and highly qualified workforce supporting a large-scale program. Peraton is committed to hiring and retaining the most skilled experts in their fields and holding employees to the highest standards of excellence.Linguists may be required to complete annual evaluations and retesting to determine eligibility for service extensions. This position is mission-critical, supporting U.S. Government operations in the Levant region and beyond.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on Middle Eastern tribes, religious and ethnic groups, and influential moderate voices to counter extremist activitiesSupport key leader engagement events in the Levant region and with remote partners in the Area of Responsibility (AOR)Translate, interpret, and analyze oral and written material (classified reports, data, briefings, conversations) in both written and oral formDeliver assessments, transcription, translation, interpretation, cultural advisement, and media analysis services to ensure actionable intelligence products are developed quickly and accuratelyProvide written translations of source texts with full fidelity to meaning and intent (congruity judgment)Serve as Interpreter with command of Arabic (Lebanese) and English, ensuring accurate comprehension and culturally contextualized communicationResearch in native Arabic sources and produce comprehensive command-level information papersPossess detailed knowledge of the operating environment, including Joint and Combined doctrine and host nation laws/regulations (Arabic in Jordan)Participate in Inter-agency and Coalition working groups, serving as operational cultural advisor expertiseBe prepared to work extended work weeks to meet mission requirementsIdeal Candidate Profile:Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic (Lebanese) and professional fluency in EnglishStrong background in translation, interpretation, and cultural advisement in Middle Eastern contextsDeep understanding of tribal, religious, and ethnic landscapes in the Levant regionExperience supporting U.S. Government or military operations in overseas environmentsAbility to synthesize complex cultural and linguistic information into actionable insights for senior leadershipQualificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Studies, Anthropology, Communication or a related field from an accredited and reputable institution and 8 years of relevant experience. May substitute 12 years or greater experience in lieu of a formal bachelor's degree and be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in understanding Middle Eastern culture - specifically in Levant area to include:ReligiousEthnic groupsInfluential moderate voices Ethnic landscape in its effort to counter extremist activitiesMinimum of 5 years prior experience working in support of U.S. Armed Forces or U.S. government agencies.Minimum of 4/4/4/ scores or higher in testing scores both in English and a 5/5/5/ in Arabic Lebanese Dialect.Must be willing to deploy for periods of 180 - 365 days in support of U.S. Forces (Duty Location Camp Xiphos, Jordan).Must be able to demonstrate the following abilities:Provide Objective, Unbiased, & Logical cultural advisement. Must be able to follow orderly and sequential systematic procedures and guidelines.Provide foreign language interpretation, translation, transliteration & transcription, document exploitation (DOCEX) services.Provide written and verbal translation of various types of media from target language to source language while maintaining congruity in judgment.Must possess excellent listening skills with ability to pay attention to minute details.Must be comfortable providing presentations and working with small and large groups. In depth cultural understanding of customs, symbolism, mannerisms, traditions of various ethnic groups residing throughout the Middle Eastern AOR.Demonstrated capability to work with Microsoft Office applications, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint.U.S. citizenship required.Current, active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.Must possess a valid US Passport, not expiring within 1 Year.Must be fully eligible for Jordanian Visa.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with Information Operations/ MISO units in Middle East and SW Asia. Language ability in another required language; FARSI, Arabic in Levant and Gulf dialects at the same levels.Native Middle Eastern Heritage - Lebanon.SCA / Union / Intern Rate or RangeDetailsTarget Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
