On behalf of our partner – a growing international company with global IT operations – we are looking for a skilled and experienced Linux Server Administrator with French.Location: Relocation to Bulgaria, Sofia required (all relocation costs are covered by the employer)Role Overview:The Linux Server Administrator with French will provide technical expertise for server administration, tuning and ensure all supported servers maintain smooth operations through high-availability and performance standards.The Linux Server Administrator with French will be working independently or in teams and have the ability to effectively gain insight and develop solutions to meet customer’s business needs.Linux Server Administrators with French receive tickets, which are automatically generated from notification systems or monitoring tools. Their responsibility is to investigate the reported error messages in order to determine the root cause. Quick action is required, in case of a high priority tickets. In the cases when the Linux Server Administrator with French does not have the rights to resolve the issues, the tickets are dispatched accordingly to the next level support teams. No end-user calls are expected. Telephone and e-mail communication is performed with other resolving teams and client’s IT representatives.Key Responsibilities:Linux server administration with French – server restart, service check and restart; syslogs check; System resource usage check (CPU, filesystem, RAM)Familiarity with range of OSs: e.g. Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHatDevelopment of shell scripts for evaluation and automationsManagement of systems through virtualization technologiesAbility to identify and narrow-down NW issues with OS, DB and middleware, familiarity with common NW protocolsProcessing alerts in Linux server area and defining of exceptionsCoordination with security departmentsHandle and process more complex ticketsServer Hardware – general hardware failure diagnosis; opening and coordination of hardware cases with the corresponding HW and Data Centre teamsEnsure that received tickets from Monitoring tools are accordingly troubleshooted to find the main cause and resolved or dispatchedHandle E-mails – Service requests are received via e-mail, which can result in opening of ticketsFollow best practice ticket management processes, i.e., ensuring tickets owned are handled and updated as per process and every effort is made to make service levelsPresent a positive, effective and flexible contribution to achieving team targets and objectivesCollaborate with external Resolution Groups, including on-site teams, to ensure service levels are met or exceededRemain well versed in help desk policies, procedures, standards, and documentationResolve Tickets within scope of responsibilities according to defined proceduresFocus on building good working relationships within the team and other Resolution GroupsComply with specific or ad-hoc tasks including answering incoming calls to assist with volumes during volume spikes, outages, etc. Requirements:B2 level of written and verbal FrenchB1 level of written and verbal EnglishTeam playerAbility to work with little or no supervisionAbility to proactively learn new technologies, processes, and search for solutionsAbility to apply analytical and investigative skills to resolve server issuesCan research and find solutions when encounters unfamiliar technical situationsUbuntu, CentOS, RedHat or similarShell scriptingSystem ConfigurationVirtualization SW: KVM, Hypervisor, LXC, or similarDatabase (MongoDB, MySQL,Oracle)Resource Management: load balancing, optimizing systems performanceEducation:Bachelor/master’s degree in computer science / information systems or relevant would be a plusThe offer:Full relocation support – all relocation expenses are covered by the employer.
