The team is expanding and looking for Senior Linux System Administrators to join a high-performing environment working on nationally significant projects.You’ll be part of a skilled technical team responsible for maintaining and improving secure Linux environments, ensuring stability, performance, and compliance. The role offers hybrid working and exposure to some of the most advanced secure computing environments in the UK.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1st and 2nd line technical support for Linux-based systems and infrastructureMonitor overall system performance, proactively identifying risks or issuesDevelop and maintain system documentation and operational proceduresImplement, support, and maintain standards, policies, and procedures for continual service improvementCollaborate with internal teams to enhance automation and system reliabilityEssential Skills & ExperienceStrong knowledge of Linux system administration (RHEL/CentOS 6/7/8)Experience working to ITIL best practicesExcellent organisation, time management, and troubleshooting skillsA proactive mindset focused on process improvement and root cause analysisStrong communication skills and willingness to share knowledge within a teamDesirable TechnologiesAutomation tools: Ansible, PuppetRed Hat ecosystem: Satellite 6, OpenShift 3/4, RHEL Atomic/CoreOSScripting: Bash, Python, GitCloud: AWSSolid understanding of command line interfaces (CLI)Security Clearance RequirementsDue to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible for national security clearance.
