Closing on: Sep 4, 2025Subsidiary: Mckenzie Brown Ghana LtdPurpose: The Sandwich Panel Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining the equipment involved in the production of high-quality insulated sandwich panels (PUR/PIR or EPS core with metal facings). This position requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and product quality. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Machine OperationOperate the full continuous sandwich panel production line, including: Uncoiling systemsRoll forming unitsPU/PIR chemical dosing and foaming stationDouble belt pressCross-cutting and stacking systemsStart up and shut down machines following proper procedures.

Monitor control panels, sensors, and PLC systems for consistent machine performance. Ensure product output meets target dimensions, thickness, density, and quality standards. Setup & CalibrationConfigure machine parameters based on product specifications and work orders, including: Sheet thicknessFoaming densityPanel length, width, and thicknessPress temperature and pressurePerform accurate alignment of metal sheets and foam application to avoid warping or delamination. Calibrate tools and sensors before production shifts. Process Monitoring & Quality ControlConduct visual and dimensional inspections of panels at regular intervals. Monitor panel surface quality, joint integrity, curing levels, and uniformity.

Record and report defects, initiate corrective actions, and communicate with the quality assurance team. Ensure traceability through accurate labeling and tracking. Troubleshooting & MaintenanceIdentify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, or process issues during production. Perform basic preventive maintenance and routine servicing (e. g. , lubrication, filter changes, alignment checks). Escalate and coordinate with maintenance technicians for complex repairs or technical malfunctions. Maintain machine logs and maintenance checklists. Safety & ComplianceFollow all company safety policies and PPE requirements. Ensure safe handling of chemicals (e. g. , isocyanates, polyols) with proper ventilation and containment. Participate in regular safety drills and hazard reporting.

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workstation. Material Handling & InventoryAssist with loading and feeding of raw materials (metal coils, foaming agents, EPS/PIR). Offload, stack, and organize finished panels for dispatch or storage. Track material usage and report shortages or overages to inventory control. Documentation & ReportingRecord production metrics including quantity, downtime, batch numbers, and machine settings. Maintain daily production logs, quality control records, and maintenance history. Provide input during production meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Qualifications/ExperienceRequired: Minimum of first degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.

Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on experience in metal roofing sheet production or roll forming operations. Basic understanding of machine operation, material handling, and working in an industrial production environment. Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, systems, and processes. Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Physically capable of performing factory work, including standing for long hours, lifting materials, and working in hot conditions. Punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious, with a proactive and responsible work ethic.

Preferred (but Not Required)Experience with PU/PIR sandwich panel production or any form of insulated panel manufacturing is an advantage. Exposure to basic mechanical or electrical systems used in production lines. Familiarity with PLC-based controls or automated machinery is a plus. Prior participation in technical or vocational training related to manufacturing is a bonus. Only candidates who meet the stated qualifications and experience requirements will be shortlisted.
