Job Description

EMIS is seeking an accomplished M&A professional to join us on a recurring freelance basis. This is a project‑based engagement (not a full‑time role) designed for senior practitioners who wish to contribute high‑quality thought leadership alongside their primary professional commitments.The role is well suited for experienced M&A and corporate finance practitioners, strategy consultants, financial journalists, editorial specialists, and private equity or M&A‑focused content creators and industry commentators.Scope of EngagementThe selected contractor will commit annually to the following deliverables:• 12 Monthly M&A Newsletter CommentariesPrepare 12 written commentary pieces (one per month) for the EMIS M&A Newsletter.Each piece should provide concise and insightful analysis of current deal activity, highlight notable transactions, and explore emerging thematic trends across the global M&A landscape.• Quarterly Commentary for EMIS Regional M&A ReportsProduce 2–3 pages of analytical commentary for each quarterly EMIS regional M&A report, covering CEE, LATAM, and ASEAN.These commentaries should interpret quarterly deal trends, contextualize sector and country-level dynamics, and highlight strategically meaningful transactions using EMIS’s proprietary data and tools.• 4 EMIS-Hosted M&A Webinars per YearOne per quarter, aligned with report release cycles.These sessions feature presentations of key findings, live expert discussions, and audience Q&A.All deliverables are completed under a freelance/independent contractor agreement with clearly defined timelines and expectations.What You’ll Do 1. Monthly & Quarterly M&A CommentaryDeliver high-quality analytical content for both the monthly M&A newsletter and quarterly regional reports.Provide clear interpretation of deal activity, macro trends, and sector dynamics.Highlight significant transactions and articulate their strategic implications.Offer forward-looking perspectives supported by data-driven insights.Collaborate closely with the EMIS Head of M&A and utilize EMIS’s proprietary deal intelligence tools.2. Webinar LeadershipServe as a featured presenter during EMIS’s quarterly M&A webinars.Deliver structured presentations on regional market performance and key transactions.Engage in live dialogue and Q&A with a professional finance and corporate audience.Represent EMIS as a credible and authoritative subject-matter expert.Who This Role Is ForThis role is an excellent fit for professionals who:✔ Possess deep, practical knowledge of M&A and corporate finance✔ Write clearly, analytically, and efficiently✔ Are confident speaking and moderating discussions with senior executives✔ Can craft compelling narratives around transactions and market trends✔ Enjoy blending research-driven analysis with public-facing communicationRequired Qualifications2–5+ years of relevant experience in M&A, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or financial journalism.Demonstrated ability to prepare analytical written content (e.g., reports, commentaries, market analyses).Strong understanding of valuation fundamentals, deal structures, and industry dynamics.Prior experience hosting, moderating, or presenting webinars, panels, or similar events.Excellent communication, storytelling, and editorial skills.Ability to synthesize complex data into accessible insights for financial audiences.Professional presence and comfort interacting with senior stakeholders.Proficiency with webinar tools (Zoom, GoTo, Teams Live, or similar) and standard reporting formats (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).Professional command of English languageBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Journalism, or a related field.MBA or CFA accreditation is a strong advantage.
