Malone Group is an established project delivery company specialising in delivering complex projects for companies in the commercial, food & beverage, pharmaceutical and utilities sectors in Ireland, UK and Canada.The M&E Project Engineer will be a key project role within the Company’s operations, working within the Engineering Department. The position is an onsite customer based role and requires a broad knowledge of and experience in the range of technical roles and responsibilities carried out by this department. The individual will provide the customer with independent M&E advice on proposed Building Services repair and reactive works from a 3rd party facilities provider.ResponsibilitiesProvide the customer with independent M&E cost advice on proposed Building Services repair and reactive works from 3rd party facilities provider. Interrogating costs to ensure the customer is deriving value for moneyAssist the customer’s maintenance team to manage and monitor reactive works from receipt to completionProviding technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phasesDesign and collaborate with other disciplines to create a construction set of documents and work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate mechanical and electrical equipmentManage and monitor Life Safety investment proposals and be point of contact for the customer’s Engineering Services teamExplore data patterns and relationships from reactive work orders to derive helpful insightsAdherence and monitoring of project programmes to include regular progress trackingReviewing and approving equipment submittalsProviding technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phasesOverseeing the installation of projects on Customer sites, to include all elements of Quality, Health and Safety and Technical complianceConsult on high value capitalised & revenue equipment repairs/replacementCompiling list of Service Delivery processes (mapped and unmapped)Preparing library of as-is processes, while developing new processes maps/procedures for unmapped processesLegislative Change Implications - assist the customer’s Engineering Services team to complete GAP analysis of legislative requirements and development of templates to close any GAPs, inclusive of the Fire Assessment Strategy, Emergency Lighting Guidance, Asbestos Register, Chemicals Register, etc.Candidate ProfileDegree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Level 7) with a minimum 5 years’ post qualification experienceWorking towards Chartered Engineer status desirable but not a requirementExcellent understanding of the European Codes and standardsKnowledge of Irish building codes and regulationsPossess leadership and problem-solving skillsA good appreciation of the practices defined within ISO9001 Quality documentationA good grasp of all the technical design elements required in conducting the Company’s businessBe a motivated, highly dependable individual with solid communication skills, attention to detail, and an ability to maintain high quality standardsDemonstrate leadership qualities to maintain relationships with internal and external customers.Ability to quickly identify and remove roadblocksProactively organises and plans ahead to ensure optimum resource allocation and project timelines are metAbility to work on multiple projects of different scale and complexity at any one timeAn ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs with no impact on quality, reliability or maintainabilityEnjoys solving problems, interacting with customers, suppliers and contractors and eager to maintain strong constructive relationships.
