Machine Learning Engineer Co-op

City:TorontoWhat you will do:We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Learning Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to real-world machine learning projects, data engineering workflows, and model deployment pipelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, support model development, and help scale ML solutions in a cloud-based environment.Key Responsibilities:Test and validate large datasets to ensure data quality and integrity.Support governance, documentation, and process initiatives by coordinating with business teams and data stewards on data quality issues.Assist the Data Science team with model development, accuracy calculations, and data analysis.Assist in building, testing, and validating machine learning models using large datasets.Support data engineering tasks including data ingestion, transformation, and validation.Participate in cloud migration efforts and validate datasets and model outputs.Contribute to documentation and process improvements related to ML workflows.Requirements:Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.Analytical skills with experience in performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes.Programming skills in Python and familiarity with machine learning libraries.Understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applications.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.Experience with query languages such as SQL and database management.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Azure.Familiarity with Agile methodologies.Familiarity with Databricks, ADLS (Azure Data Lake Storage), and PySpark.Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar.Inclusion & DiversityCineplex, its subsidiaries, and affiliates are equal opportunity employers with a commitment to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
