Maintenance Manager / Head of Engineering

Job Title: Maintenance Manager / Head of Engineering Location: Alexandria, Egypt Industry: Textile Manufacturing (Knitting, Dyeing & Finishing) Reporting To: Chief Operations Officer (COO) Job Overview:The Maintenance Manager / Head of Engineering will lead and manage all maintenance and engineering operations within the Textile and Dyeing facilities. This role involves overseeing equipment maintenance, preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring machine reliability, driving continuous improvement, and supervising the mechanical and electrical maintenance teams. The individual will collaborate closely with production to minimize downtime and support factory modernization and technical upgrade projects. Reporting directly to the COO, the role ensures maintenance activities align with overall operational and strategic objectives.Key Responsibilities:- Lead, manage, and supervise the entire maintenance department, including mechanical and electrical teams.- Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance plans to ensure optimal machine and equipment performance.- Plan and coordinate all maintenance activities, including daily operations, equipment repair, and scheduled shutdowns.- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine reliability, reduce downtime, and increase overall plant efficiency.- Oversee technical upgrades, machinery installation, commissioning, and factory modernization projects.- Manage maintenance resources effectively, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization.- Coordinate closely with production, quality control, procurement, and engineering teams to align maintenance with operational goals.- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement to maintain uninterrupted production.- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, costs, and equipment performance for management reporting.- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement long-term solutions.- Lead, mentor, and motivate the maintenance team, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs.- Support budgeting and cost control related to maintenance consumables and labor.- Prepare and deliver detailed maintenance performance reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and project updates to senior management.Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).- Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance management within textile, dyeing, or finishing factories.- Proven leadership and team management skills with experience overseeing mechanical and electrical maintenance teams.- Strong technical expertise in industrial equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.- Knowledge of modern maintenance systems, best practices, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., TPM, Kaizen).- Familiarity with maintenance of utilities such as power systems, HVAC, boilers, steam systems, and water treatment.- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.- Experience in managing budgets and procurement for maintenance spare parts and consumables.- Previous experience in the textile and garments industry is a plus.What We Offer:- A stable career opportunity within one of Egypt’s leading textile and apparel groups.- A key leadership role driving industrial development and modernization projects.- Competitive compensation package and opportunities for professional growth.
