Read on for more details about this particular role.ResponsibilitiesJob SummaryThe Sewing Machine Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial sewing machines and related equipment to ensure smooth and efficient production operations. The role supports production by minimizing downtime, improving machine performance, and maintaining quality and safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, set up, and adjust industrial sewing machines and equipment.Perform preventive maintenance according to maintenance schedules.Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues and carry out repairs.Troubleshoot machine breakdowns quickly to minimize production downtime.Calibrate machines to ensure proper stitch quality and production efficiency.Replace worn or defective parts such as needles, motors, belts, loopers, and feed mechanisms.Maintain maintenance records, repair logs, and spare parts usage.Support production teams in machine operation and basic troubleshooting.Ensure machines operate according to safety and quality standards.Participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.Maintain cleanliness and proper lubrication of machines and work areas.QualificationsRequired Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of industrial sewing machines (lockstitch, overlock, flatlock, bar-tack, etc.).Mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.Ability to read technical manuals and machine diagrams.Good problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns.Attention to detail and quality.Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting (CMMS is a plus).Education & ExperienceDiploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electromechanical, or Industrial Maintenance.2–5 years of experience in sewing machine maintenance, preferably in garment or textile manufacturing.Experience with preventive maintenance systems is an advantage.
