Job Description

MaintenanceJob PurposeDeliver a high-quality maintenance service to production and the site wide facilityReports ToMaintenance Co Ordinator / ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:Provide maintenance support to the production facilityCarry out wiring installation and commissioning of plant / equipment & trouble shooting on plant and equipmentPerform scheduled and unplanned maintenance of plant equipmentCarry out facility checks which includes meter readings, reports and resolving discrepancies withinElectrical and Mechanical troubleshooting & electro-mechanical repairs to a PLC controlled plantWork with equipment suppliers on new equipment and installations and modificationsContribute to the efficiency of the operation by maximizing uptime of machineryMinimise downtime in production and utility areasManage on site contractors including permits and inductionParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives as appropriate (e.g.) projects, Lean etcTroubleshoot using PLC Programs/wiring diagrams etcAdheres to all site policies on quality and safety (e.g.)  clean overalls, clean work boots, hair nets, hearing protection, hand washing etcTechnical support for all the plant facilities and services, including compressed air & refrigerationFully support the maintenance, shift cover, phone support & calloutCarry out maintenance work orders and requests in a timely and safe manner while maintaining adherence to GMPAssist the health & safety team in carrying out risk assessments of new & existing machines and ensuring training is rolled out to the Maintenance TeamSkills / Qualifications / ExperienceA relevant third level qualification in Engineering or time-served Electrician or fitter (Electrical/ Mechanical Qualification/ Mechanical Experience)Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role, planned and reactive maintenance skillsExperience in a similar maintenance role within an FMCG industrial plant (food production environment)Experience of machine control diagnostics would be beneficial to your application, as would strong industrial mechanical service and repair skillsIdentify & execute machine / line improvement projectsHave experience of a wide range of Electrical Control Systems, temperature, and PLC/PC Controlled SystemsInstrumentation and programmingExcellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health, and SafetyComputer skills and basic usage of excel inputtingQualified Electrician – Have a recognised apprenticeship in the electrical, electronic or machine control diagnostics fieldAbility to work on own initiative and as part of a teamAbility to work under pressure and to deadlinesShould have good verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate a logical approach to problem solvingHas a ‘can do’ attitudeNote: As with all positions, due to the dynamic nature of Arrow Group business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time.
