As the Management Accountant, you’ll be at the heart of driving financial success managing day-to-day operations, project costs, and cash flow, while collaborating with engineers and project managers to achieve budgets, milestones, and overall project excellence.Your key tasks will include:Transactional Finance: Ensure smooth and efficient financial operations by managing AP/AR, banking, petty cash, reconciliations, and collections. Prepare BAS/IAS, payroll tax, and super reporting with accuracy and compliance.Project Costing & Margin: Drive informed decision-making by building job costing frameworks, tracking budgets vs. actuals, managing WIP/revenue recognition (AASB 15), and delivering actionable margin insights.Cash Flow & Working Capital: Strengthen financial performance by maintaining 13-week cash flow forecasts, aligning billing to milestones, managing retentions, and optimizing DSO/DPO.Month-End & Reporting: Provide timely, accurate insights by closing month-end (WD3–WD5), preparing journals and management packs, and leading budgets and forecasts to support business growth.Business Partnering & Systems: Boost team effectiveness and efficiency by reinforcing timesheet and PO discipline, leading collaborative finance huddles, and continuously enhancing Xero and job-costing systems.What You’ll BringCPA or CA qualification.5+ years’ experience in management accounting with end-to-end AP/AR and BAS in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or project-based services.Strong WIP, progress claims, retention, AASB 15 knowledge; solid grasp of Australian compliance (GST, PAYG-W, STP, super, payroll tax).Advanced Excel and experience with the Xero suite.Bonus Points ForKnowledge of Australian project finance practices.Experience in engineering, construction, or technical services environments.Ready to Apply?We’re excited to meet you.
