Job Profile The Manager - Credit Control is responsible for the overall management of the Accounts Receivable function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, effective credit risk assessment, and maintaining healthy customer relationships. This role involves developing, implementing, and enforcing robust credit policies and procedures, managing the credit control team's daily operations, and providing critical aged-debt analysis to senior management.Responsibilities · Oversee and manage the credit control function to ensure timely collection of premiums and other payments from policyholders, brokers, and intermediaries.· Develop and implement credit policies, procedures, and strategies to minimize bad debt and optimize cash flow.· Monitor and assess client creditworthiness, setting appropriate credit limits and terms in line with company risk policies.· Lead, mentor, and manage a team of credit control staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to targets.· Analyse aging reports and manage overdue accounts, initiating collection processes and negotiating payment plans where necessary.· Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and sales teams to resolve payment disputes and ensure accurate invoicing.· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and financial standards specific to the insurance industry.· Prepare and present regular reports on credit control performance, bad debt provisions, and cash flow forecasts to senior management.· Maintain strong relationships with brokers, financial institutions, clients, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth payment processes.· Drive process improvements, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency in credit control operations.· Manage escalations and legal actions related to non-payment, coordinating with legal teams when required.Required skills/ Abilities ·      Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.·      Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICASL/Inter-CA or equivalent) fully or partially completed.·      Minimum 4-6 years of progressive experience in Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, or a similar financial role.·      At least 2 years in a supervisory or senior-level capacity within a Credit Control department.·      Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel (Advanced functions).·      Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. In-depth knowledge of credit risk management and financial analysis.·      Experience in an insurance industry would be an added advantage.Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
