We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager, Arena Communications to lead communications and media relations efforts for PHX Arena, including developing and executing PR strategies for the arena and all concerts/events, proactively pitching story ideas and cultivating relationships with local and national media. What You Will DoDevelop and proactively execute strategic communications plans and earned media strategies for PHX Arena, including implementing creative communications campaigns to enhance publicity for concerts and events.
Work cross-functionally with the arena marketing and arena operations teams to develop creative story ideas for PHX Arena. Draft media materials including press releases, media advisories, key messages, talking points and briefs. Serve as the PR contact and manage media requests for all concerts and events hosted at PHX Arena; coordinate with promoters and public relations contacts to advance media for all events. Maintain and update media lists and an asset library of approved photos, broll, historical venue information and records. Create post-event coverage recaps and support in compiling monthly coverage recap reports.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with local and national media as well as promoters and industry representatives. Identify industry awards and speaking engagement opportunities. What We Need From Our Manager, Arena CommunicationsPositive attitudeExcellent written and verbal communications skills; an ability to express ideas clearly and concisely. Demonstrated ability to lead projects from conception through execution. Detail-oriented and able to balance multiple deadlines and priorities. Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed for concerts and events. Knowledge and enthusiasm for the live events and concert industry.
Experience/ Education RequirementsBachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism or public relations. Minimum of 5 years of public relations or communications experience, preferably within live events or entertainment.
