Manager Supplier Quality Management

Job DescriptionTHE POSITIONBased in one of Vertiv’s main facilities and reporting to the Senior Director of Supplier Quality this will be a regional lead role to support Supplier Quality activities. This position will be an integral part in supporting the Supplier Quality strategy to create a global ONE Vertiv structure.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in ongoing improvements of the Supplier Quality strategies, processes, methods, and procedures according to the stated objectives.Establish regional Supplier Quality objectives to support the overall Supplier Quality strategies.Lead the region in the reduction of key KPI’s such as Supplier NC’s and PPMs.Monitor and report on regional supplier performance metrics. Develop and oversee a strategy to deal with Vertiv’s worst suppliers within the region using Vertiv’s Supplier Improvement Plan (SIP) or similar alternatives to help drive improvements.Responsible for assessing, building and developing a world-class regional Supplier Quality organization to support business objectives through skills assessment of team members and planning appropriate training needs.Ensure the proper allocation and alignment of Supplier Quality resources, balancing supplier quality issues, resourcing projects, new product launches and supplier improvement activities.Deliver new projects according to Vertiv’s NPDI process on time according to stated KPI’s.Represent Supplier Quality in Purchasing Commodity meetings or NPDI kickoff meetings when needed.Support sourcing activity including but not limited to Supplier assessments according to Vertiv’s VSAC, Special Process Audits or Technical reviews.Support the resolution of current production quality, service, and technology performance issues, with on-site support at the supplier with SQE’s.Participate and contribute in global Supplier Quality meetings.Prepare and host regional Supplier Quality team meetings.Lead any other tasks or projects assigned.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESFollow procedures, rules and principles of quality management system and environmental management system. Respects principles of local and international VERTIV Trade Compliance procedures connected with all operations and business practices.Follows all rules of H&S and living environment protection defined by internal procedures or communicated during training.Responsible to use working dress code and all safety protection equipment defined by the organization.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms other duties and oversee special projects and assignments as may be assigned by management.Travel: 30%+Experience RequiredTo degree level and/or with relevant practical experience. Minimum 5-8 years of diverse experience in the following functions: Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality or Supplier Quality Systems. Automotive Manufacturing Industry experience a plus.Management experience leading a team a must. Strong leadership skills, with ability to effectively manage remotely.Excellent project management skills, with experience in managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Internal or Lead auditor 3rd party certifications in ISO 9001 quality standard preferred. Additional certifications in: IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3 a plus.Working knowledge and understanding of all appropriate quality improvement tools, including Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC), along with Error Proofing and LEAN principles preferred.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Strong quantitative and analytical skills.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.Comprehensive understanding of the English language (speaking, reading and writing). Additional languages a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.Highly collaborative and team-oriented approach to work.Ability to develop strong working relationships with strategic partners and key suppliers.
