Manager – Sustainability & ESG - Consulting Location: Hoofddorp, the NetherlandsDepartment: Business ConsultingSeniority Level: ManagerAbout the RoleWe are looking for a driven and passionate Manager – Sustainability & ESG to join a dynamic and forward-thinking Business Consulting team. In this role, you will advise a diverse portfolio of clients—both Dutch and international—on sustainability strategies, regulatory compliance, and ESG performance. You will help organizations navigate a fast-changing regulatory landscape and implement impactful sustainability initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on ESG and sustainability strategies, regulatory frameworks (e. g. , CSRD, SFDR, EU Taxonomy, NFRD), and performance enhancement.
Support clients in developing and implementing sustainability frameworks and reporting systems. Assess sustainability performance and identify areas for improvement. Serve as a trusted advisor and sparring partner, offering practical, forward-thinking solutions. Lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage engagements end-to-end. Monitor industry developments and contribute to service innovation and client thought leadership. The Team EnvironmentYou’ll be part of a collaborative consulting team with expertise in Sustainability, Technology, and Innovation. The team is known for combining strategic thinking with hands-on implementation support and takes pride in staying ahead of industry developments.
The client base includes large SMEs and international companies across sectors. Candidate ProfileWe are seeking a sustainability professional with a strong consulting background and deep knowledge of ESG frameworks. The ideal candidate will bring: A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, economics, finance, business, or a related field. 6–8 years of experience in sustainability consulting or a similar advisory role. Strong knowledge of CSRD, SFDR, EU Taxonomy, NFRD, and broader ESG regulations. Excellent project management skills and experience leading teams in dynamic environments. Fluency in Dutch and English is essential; additional languages are a plus.
