Position OverviewThe Managing Director will serve as the chief executive leader of Hypercast, responsible for shaping the strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial sustainability of the network. This role requires a passionate leader with a strong background in media, business development, and team management, who can drive Hypercast’s mission to redefine podcasting in Canada and expand its global reach.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDevelop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to grow Hypercast’s audience, revenue, and brand presence.Identify emerging trends in podcasting and audio media to ensure Hypercast remains innovative and competitive.Build strategic partnerships with creators, sponsors, and media platforms to enhance content offerings and distribution channels.Operational ManagementOversee day-to-day operations, including content production, marketing, and distribution.Manage budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability.Lead the implementation of scalable processes to support network growth and operational efficiency.Team Leadership and DevelopmentFoster a collaborative, inclusive, and creative work environment that empowers staff and contributors.Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of producers, marketers, and administrative staff.Promote professional development and diversity within the team to reflect Hypercast’s commitment to inclusivity.Content and Brand DevelopmentOversee the curation and development of Hypercast’s podcast portfolio, ensuring alignment with audience interests and brand values.Collaborate with content creators to produce innovative, high-quality podcasts that resonate with diverse audiences.Enhance Hypercast’s brand identity through effective marketing, public relations, and community engagement.Stakeholder EngagementAct as the primary spokesperson for Hypercast, representing the network to investors, partners, and the public.Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including advertisers, sponsors, and industry organizations.Report on performance metrics, strategic initiatives, and growth opportunities.QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 7-10 years in senior leadership roles within media, entertainment, or related industries, with at least 3 years in podcasting or audio content production.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Media, Communications, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.Skills:Proven track record of strategic planning and business development in a media or creative industry.Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and driving revenue growth.Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation.Deep understanding of the podcasting industry, including production, distribution, and monetization strategies.Excellent communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to represent Hypercast to diverse audiences.Familiarity with Canadian media regulations and cultural landscape is an asset.Personal Attributes:Visionary thinker with a passion for storytelling and audio media.Collaborative and inclusive leader who values diversity and creativity.Results-oriented with a strong ability to navigate ambiguity and drive change.
